CDC COMPUTERS
About CDC COMPUTERS
Founded in 1983 by Tony Batista as Computers Plus on Portage Avenue, CDC COMPUTERS grew from one of Winnipeg’s first personal-computer stores into a full IT retailer and service company. Through the internet boom, mobile devices, and every major shift since, the company stayed focused on the same idea: reliable technology, backed by people who actually help.
Now in its fifth decade and having served more than 300,000 customers, CDC and Micromedics remain family-led under Tony Batista, with his eldest son Remington helping shape the next chapter. Today that means same-day repairs, Apple and gaming work, custom business systems, data recovery, CCTV, and specialized electronics, including eco-conscious repairs that cut e-waste.
The culture has always been “Winnipeg’s friendliest staff”: certified technicians, honest estimates, and service that treats every customer like a neighbour. The next step is expanding same-day capacity and exploring AI-assisted diagnostics so the shop stays as useful in the decades ahead as it was in 1983.
